I'm supposed to be a serious composer but unless you're Beethoven or Wagner that would seem like a very odd opinion to have of oneself. You can listen to excerpts from my latest works on the listening page and judge for yourself. Apart from composing I also conduct; there are photos of me conducting different bands and orchestras in the photo gallery. Then there is the double bass. I played professionally for some twenty years but now I only make guest appearances on recordings or occasionally in live shows. I also spend a lot of time on jazz music, which I love.
Apart from music I busy myself with a whole load of other stuff like chess, origami, astrophotography, Tai Chi, and reading books by the great Hermann Hesse. There are bits of the website that deal with most of these things and links to other sites which specialize in them individually.
I have a little life philosophy which runs something like this: anyone who takes themselves seriously cannot be serious.
If you want to get into a discussion about quantum physics, relativity, reincarnation, moral philosophy, spirituality, Greek mythology, Byzantine history, esotericism, electronic music, baroque opera, renaissance painting, humanist doctrine or breeding tortoises, then go to the blog and do your stuff.
